| Stainless Steel with stylish antiqued black shanks. Copper mouth. Size 5" Length 6 1/2" Swivel shanks allow for free and easy movement. A curved shank is milder and gives the horse time to respond easily without a full blown hard hit to the mouth. Most horses are very sensitive (remember they can feel a fly land on their flank, no biting necessary) and do not need a harsh command via their mouth. The free swivel shank allows the horse to receive a gradual message and respond quickly and easily. A full copper mouth promotes a wet mouth which equals a more responsive mouth.
A good bit for trained horses. For younger horses make sure they have a firm foundation in leg cues and weight. A jointed shanked bit does not operate the same as a snaffle (jointed mouth without a curb ie: Ds, Eggbutt, loose ring, full cheeks)
